Africa Practice was engaged by a prominent West African politician with a successful international business career to help develop their leadership brand and political strategy. The client sought to translate their international reputation for upholding the highest ethical principles and delivering concrete business results into credibility with domestic audiences when promoting their ability to transform the country and drive broad-based development.
We delivered a comprehensive audit of the client’s online profile and reputation, running peer-benchmarking exercises to analyse the profile and reputations of similar figures in the region and globally and understand how they had evolved their personal and political brands. We worked on the ground with local partners to conduct a rigorous assessment of the domestic political landscape and the workings of the parties and processes relevant to the client. From this baseline study, we developed a focused leadership positioning strategy, including party and political strategy, positioning pillars and engagement strategy.
The client adopted our recommendations and is currently implementing the engagement approach.
