A pioneering multi-stakeholder Public Private Partnership designed to transform agricultural value chains in East Africa needed to maintain alignment between a diverse set of founding partners and manage a complex network of stakeholder relationships in order to raise capital and execute projects on schedule and on budget.
Africa Practice developed and implemented a communications and engagement strategy to facilitate knowledge management and support collaboration between the founding partners and to build trust and confidence in the new operating model amongst external stakeholders. We also advised on impact reporting to establish a structured way to demonstrate progress and share lessons learned.
The innovative risk-sharing public-private partnership (PPP) model has been recognised across the continent and the project is actively contributing to a growing knowledge base on how to design and implement large scale agricultural transformation programmes to boost food security, improve livelihoods, ensure environmental sustainability and deliver commercial returns.
