Partnership mobilisation against COVID-19

COVID-19 has introduced global health and economic challenges without precedent in our lifetime. Governments are responding with support from industry and civil society to contain the spread of the virus and resuscitate economic activity.

At Africa Practice, among other initiatives, we are working with clients and other organisations to deliver mass sanitation solutions, supply financial relief and food to vulnerable communities.

One initiative that we are very proud to be associated with, is a partnership with Base Titanium, Centum, Gulf Power, Valar Frontier and Stanbic Bank Kenya, to acquire and donate a total of one hundred and ninety-two (192) ventilators to the Kenyan Ministry of Health.

The acquisition of the EC certified oxygen ventilators, which is spearheaded by the Stanbic Bank Foundation, is delivering support to where it is most needed, on the frontline.

Health, safety and security of people remains every responsible organisation’s first priority. However, in the current environment, partnerships must assume equal importance.

Richard Kiplagat, Director of Africa Practice, says ‘without collaboration we simply won’t achieve the speed and scale of response that is needed to protect the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable in our society.  The longer we take to source and execute the right solutions, the deeper we will need to dig and the more costly it will be for all of us.  We need speed and scale, which partnerships can deliver.’’

Africa Practice is launching an online platform containing information about corporate and civil society interventions in response to Covid-19, as well as updates on policy and regulatory developments from across sub-Saharan Africa.  Drop us an email if you’d like to learn more.
