Marie Wilke

Marie has over 15 years of experience in global, regional and national policy advisory and advocacy, giving counsel to blue-chip clients, UN institutions and governments. She has represented clients in international and national negotiations, legal proceedings and policy-making processes. She manages our Southern Africa operations and our approach to innovation and client solutions.

Before joining Africa Practice in 2017, she worked in Geneva and Brussels as a trade lawyer for UNCTAD, the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development, and private law firms. She also worked as the principal trade advisor to the SADC Secretariat.

Marie holds an LLB from the Hanse Law School, an LLM from Helsinki University (summa cum laude) and a Diploma in Data Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has taught trade law and policy at several institutions, including Cambridge and Oxford universities and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO). Marie speaks fluent French.
