Raphael Sourt
Raphael is a strategic communications expert and former journalist leading our communications work in the mining sector with a focus on Central and Southern Africa.
After working for the French Development Agency (AFD), Raphael joined the BBC World Service’s French department in Nairobi before joining Africa Practice in 2010 as regional director for Central Africa, based in Libreville. Between 2014 and 2019, he worked as communications director for Africa for global mining firm Kinross Gold before returning to Africa Practice in 2019.
He holds an MA in Contemporary History and International Relations from the University of Human Sciences of Toulouse and an MA in International Commerce from the ISC Paris Business School. Raphael speaks fluent French and is a reserve officer in the French Army.
