Kimera Chetty

Kimera leads our Advocacy team. A legal professional with particular expertise in legislative processes, legal and policy analysis, and strategic litigation, she has professional experience in both the public and private sectors. She has particular expertise working with clients in the digital economy, TMT and FMCG sectors, advising them on critical issues and strategic engagements. Kimera has engaged directly with South Africa’s parliamentary committees on numerous bills, providing input on legislative drafting, constitutional and legal analysis, and policy recommendations.

Before joining Africa Practice in 2020, she completed her articles of clerkship at a commercial law firm, worked in a provincial government department, and was a researcher at the Helen Suzman Foundation, South Africa’s foremost constitutional law think tank.

She holds an LLB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
